Caleb 10 1/2 Month Update

Caleb is closing in on 11 months and I can't believe how big he is getting! He is really walking well and I think very close to taking his first solo steps.

I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day spent at home with my 2 favorite boys (plus my favorite dog, Baxter)!

On May 26th, my sister-in-law married her fiance Ryan! We are so so happy for both of them! Here are a few pictures from the rehearsal! Unfortunately, I was so busy the day of the wedding (I was the matron of honor) I forgot to take a single picture. :(

In March I went to a consignment sale in Chesterfield where I found this Mega Bloks wagon full of Mega Bloks for only $4.  I picked it up thinking Caleb would like to play with the blocks.  Boy was I wrong!  He could care less about the blocks right now, but loves it when Mom or Dad pulls him around in his wagon!

He laughs and giggles as we pull him all around the house.
He recently discovered the toilet and all of its fascinating tricks.  He learned how to flush the toilet the other day and is going so far as to lift the lid slightly only to slam it down on his poor little fingers. :(
Needless to say, I made a quick trip over to Babies R Us yesterday to pick up a baby-proofing toilet bowl lid thingy!
His Gramma brought over this little car a few months ago, but Caleb has been just a bit too young to rid on it...until now! He is beginning to learn how to move it himself! YAY Caleb!

In other news, we found out that Caleb has to have his tongue clipped.  He has been having trouble swallowing solid foods and more or less refuses anything that is not liquified. We went to see a speech pathologist who performed a swallow study last week and apparently his tongue is too attached to the bottom of his mouth, if that makes sense.  We are currently trying to make an appointment at Children's Hospital to have surgery done.  Poor kid has had it rough the past few months between his tongue and the helmet! :(

He is definitely a happy child and enjoys spending time with his Mommy and Daddy.  He loves to play with his ball which he can throw and roll around now.  He is also walking great on his walker and is very close to taking his first steps.  Any day now, Caleb, any day! :)

The Stearns Spring 2012

So seeing as it has been 4 1/2 months since I last posted, I'm going to apologize to my family first! I promise I'm going to try to get better about posting more often!

Second, here are a slew of pictures of Caleb over the past few months.

Caleb was baptized at Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton, MO on January 8th, 2012.

He learned to sit up on his own the end of January and was released from his helmet on February 2nd, 2012!! :)

My ever-so-fabulous sister-in-law, Kacie got engaged to Ryan Langeland on February 12th, 2012!  They are getting married on May 26th this year! :) (And I'm the matron of honor! YAY!)

Caleb spent time with his Grandma reading!

He learned how fun laundry baskets can be!

He began to really enjoy bath time!

I love this little toothless grin!

He helped Mommy put away clean diapers!

Tom played on the swing with Caleb, while Baxter kept a watchful eye!  We have been enjoying beautiful spring-like weather since the beginning of March!

I think he enjoyed swinging with Mommy more! :) Just kidding Tom! ;)

Mommy and Caleb enjoyed a nice day outside the end of March!  I washed my car while Caleb watched from his stroller.  He was very amazed by the hose!

Caleb also developed a liking to popsickles!  Everytime Tom or I get one out of the freezer, Caleb comes crawling towards us ready to "share" it!

I found some MegaBloks at a consignment sale the end of March.  Caleb loves to build things (and knock them over!!) with his Dad!

We spent time with my family the beginning of April.

Easter morning Caleb woke up to a Yoda Easter basket full of goodies.  He received a stuffed kangaroo which is part of the Eric Carle collection from Kohl's and a Dr. Seuss book.  He was quite fond of the kangaroo which Tom affectionately named Gordon.  We then attended church and enjoyed a big Easter dinner as a family.

Gramma and Grandpa came for a visit the middle of April.  He enjoyed looking a books with his Gramma.  He also received a new baseball cap from his Aunt Susan which I think he looks absolutely adorable in!

Caleb was so tired by the end of the afternoon, he fell asleep on his Grandpa's lap.

Caleb began his crawling expedition on March 18th at his Gramma and Grandpa's house.  He mastered the art the beginning of April and has been on the go over since!

Dad put Caleb in his MegaBloks wagon and pulled him around the living room!

We enjoyed spending some time with Caleb's Nana and Papa the end of April.  He has become such a big boy!

Caleb was playing tug-a-war with his Dad.  I think Caleb is going to win this war!

We received some boxes from Staples in the mail today and Caleb thought it would be fun to use them as a drum!  He loves playing with boxes.  It's the simple things in life that kids enjoy!

I have a feeling this kid is going to be a climber.  He tries to crawl all over this chair!  It's incredible.  He can't walk, but he can manage to step across, around, under, and between the bars of this chair!

I went in to get him from his nap today and this is what I walked into!  He was standing their reaching for things out of that orange basket and throwing them on the floor! Little stinkweed!

He sleeps like a frog! But this is the most peaceful time of the day!

Again, I apologize for the lack of posts! I hope I have caught everyone up on the happenings of the Stearns family over the past few months.  I promise to make a conscious effort to post more frequently!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
